IMR Hamburg GmbH, along with Engineering Zagreb doo, has signed a contract with Siemens AG for the engineering and installation of pipelines (1900 t) on the Herne combined-cycle power plant.
Awarding this contract to IMR demonstrates a high level of trust and confidence in our company in regard to quality, safety at work and meeting deadlines.

IMR Hamburg GmbH has completed work on the Combine cycle Power Plant Stadwerke Flensburg GmbH. Despite the unusual circumstances caused by COVID 19, IMR Hamburg has managed to carry out high-quality work on the Flensburg Power Plant in the agreed manner.
Along with Inzenjering Zagreb, we were responsible for dismantling existing pipelines and engineering, design and installing new pipelines lines, including stress analysis and supports. IMR Hamburg has done Procurement, Prefabrication and Erection of the mentioned lines.
The steel construction and installation of the pipe supports were also supplied by IMR Hamburg.
During course of last four years on Kusile power station project, IMR Hamburg affirmed its quality and drive to success with current partner Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Africa.
In the past few years, IMR Hamburg has become a reliable partner to Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Africa on Kusile Project, which resulted with signing of a new contract for the work on Unit 3, worth over the 20 millions Euros.
IMR was the Main Sponsor of the 6th Emalahleni Schools Challenge on the 16th of June 2016 hosted by Sports Wrap Foundation. The tournament took place at the Lynnville Stadium in Witbank, South Africa with 8 local schools taking part in both Soccer & Netball.
The company IMR Hamburg has successfully extended the project contracts for the installation of low pressure and high pressure piping on Kusile with the contractors who are responsible for installation of the turbine and boiler house at 6 x 800MW thermal power plants which is built by the state owned energy supplier. On the IMR Hamburg contracts in South Africa currently over 600 persons are working on site.
The works are mainly on piping around the turbine such as piping for the water steam cycle as well as on the boiler integral piping and auxiliary and supporting systems scattered over from Unit 1 to Unit 6. With the help of workers from mainly the local community IMR Hamburg is currently on the whole power plant the main Subcontractor for piping. Over 60 engineers in where IMR Hamburg employs over 20 welding engineers are not only supporting the scope from IMR Hamburg they are also seconded to the main contractor in Kusile and Medupi and supervise the erection of the steam boiler as well as several local companies working for the main contractor not only for the installation of the piping also for installation of other boiler components such as boiler walls, ducting, auxiliary boilers.
